HOT NEWS

The practice has acquired a Healozone machine which allows a radical change in procedure towards many forms of decay as it allows existing decay to be sterilised and then to heal, rather than having to remove it. For more details...

Surgery Refurbishment

Following on from the refurbishment of Mr McNulty and Mr Morden’s rooms over the last three years, the practice has now upgraded Mrs Ford’s surgery to modern standards.
The room layout has been changed to improve the use of space and move the chair towards the only natural light source in the room.
A new Adec chair has been fitted with blue upholstery, and new grey cabinetry has been made to order.
This all makes the room much brighter and the positioning of the chair makes the room much more useable.
We hope to fit an intraoral camera in the next few months which should allow Nikki’s patients to have a much clearer idea of what condition their mouth is in, and what the problems are.

New Staff Members
Many of you will know that Jo is on maternity leave following the arrival of Benjamin in May 2005.
Benjamin is growing fast and Jo is due back in April .To cover Jo’s maternity leave we have taken on several members of staff including briefly
Mr Morden’s daughter Elizabeth.
At present Mr Morden is being ‘looked after’ by Maggie and Sarah. Both look set to stay on in various roles when Jo returns from leave.

SMS & Email Reminders
Our new software allows us to readily send email and text messages to patients as a reminder that you are due a routine checkup or that your booked dental appointment is coming up soon.
The initial testing has gone well and it should be a feature form now on.
It is possible to send text messages to a normal home phone as well, as highlighted by the recent BT ad campaign
Please see the reception staff to opt in.
We anticipate emails and texts being sent 72 hours before the appointment is due.

Hygiene Appointments

The practice has recently been having an unacceptably high level of cancellations of hygiene appointments on the day. Whilst we are able to reallocate the odd appointment 5 or 6 on one day are a problem.
Could those patients with hygiene appointments please book more carefully for when they are actually available for treatment.
If the situation doesn’t improve the practice may have to introduce a longer cancellation notice period at the very least.
